Mrs. Donna Eldredge is a Co-Founder and was the Principal of one of the first
charter middle schools in Albuquerque. She also was the Special Education
director and a teacher. She has a dual license in K-8 regular education
and K-12 SPED license. Her MA is in Elementary Education and she holds
both 3A and 3B licenses. She has 20 years of education experience in
elementary, middle, and high school education. For her, creating Coral
Community Charter is a dream that is being realized. Mrs. Eldredge is a
native New Mexican, lives in Albuquerque, is married, and has two
children in college.
Mr. Nunn - Teacher, Boys' 3rd/4th Grade
Mr. Reid Nunn was a teacher at a local elementary school. He has his MA is in Ed. Leadership and holds a 3B license. He is a 2007 Milken award winner, a 2008 Wal Mart teacher award winner, has a publication titled More Best Practices for Elementary Classrooms, is a Baldridge SQS trainer, and has served on his school leadership team for 12 years. He piloted an extremely successful all boys class for APS during the 2009-2010 school year that ended, with much dismay, the same year due to budget cuts. He has been a strong supporter of single gender classes in
Albuquerque and co-founding Coral Community Charter is another stepping
stone in continuing this support. Mr. Nunn grew up in Albuquerque, is
married, and has a one year old daughter.
Mrs. Nunn - Teacher, Girls' 3rd/4th Grade
Mrs. Kay Nunn is in her eighth year of teaching. She has taught 1st-5th grade and Title I Reading.
Her Master’s degree is in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis
in reading. She has conducted research in her classroom focused on
vocabulary and presented her findings at the International Reading
Association conference. Kay is married to Mr. Nunn and has a 2½ year
old daughter. She enjoys Taekwondo and running when she’s not in the
Mrs. Bidgood - Teacher, Boys' 1st/2nd Grade
Bidgood is a native New Mexican, and New Mexico quinine is one of her most favorite things! Mrs. Bidgood grew up in Belen and graduated from Belen High
School. She continued her education by going to the University of New
Mexico, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Mrs. Bidgood has also taken several classes towards her Masters (in Special
Education). She believes that every child deserves to learn at their own
developmental level. Dividing students by gender helps gives them a
greater chance of performing to their highest ability.
Mrs. Sickenger - Teacher, Girls' 1st/2nd Grade
Mrs. Sickenger is a Co-Founder and teacher at one of the first charter mid schools in Albuquerque. She has a BA in Communicative Disorders and holds a K-8 teaching license. In addition to teaching, she has been the test coordinator/administrator and provided administrative support for the school. She has 11 years teaching experience at the mid school level. Being a founder of Coral Community Charter has allowed her the opportunity to create a school in which the needs of the student can be put first. Mrs. Sickenger is a native New Mexican, is married, and has an elementary-aged daughter.
Mr. Kavanaugh - Teacher, Boys' Kindergarten
Anthony S. Kavanaugh currently serves as the boys’ kindergarten teacher
at Coral Community Charter School. Prior to becoming an educator, Mr.
Kavanaugh was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. His Military Occupational Specialty was as an M1A1 Tank Crewman. He
served three combat tours in Iraq earning the following awards: Navy
Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation,
Navy Unit Citation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w*2, Marine Corps Good
Conduct Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service
Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Nation Defense
Medal, and Certificate of Commendation. Mr. Kavanaugh graduated Cum Laude, while earning his B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico. He
is endorsed in Social Studies. He completed his student teaching at
Coral Community Charter School, under the tutelage of Mr. Reid Nunn. Mr. Kavanaugh has a passion for teaching and molding young minds. It
is his duty to build a foundation and give children the tools to one
day become productive and hard working members of the community.
Mrs. Hennie - Teacher
- Girls' Kindergarten
Ms. Hennie received a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from
the University of South Florida and holds a K-8 New Mexico teaching
license. This is her first year teaching at Coral Community and her
second year teaching Kindergarten. She is excited to be part of a school
that truly puts the needs of children above all else. Ms. Hennie is
originally from Albuquerque and will be married here next spring.

Mrs. Lerner - Business Manager
Chris Garcia - Administrative Support
Ms. Garcia has been working with the school since the beginning; we were
very lucky that she found us. She helps out with everything from data
entry to mending boo boos.
James Richardson - Facilities Manager
was born and raised in Reading Massachusetts and attended public
schools and The University of Massachusetts at Lowell (formerly Lowell
Technological Institute). After graduating with a Chemical Engineering
degree I went to work for Diamond Shamrock Chemical Company in Redwood
City California. I spent several years in various corporate
responsibilities and landed in Houston, Texas. I started my own chemical
company in Houston, Texas and was able to provide specialty chemicals
to many of the nation’s largest oil companies.
nearly twenty years of self-employment I moved my family (wife and two
kids) to Albuquerque to be closer to my wife’s family. Once I completed
my self-employment responsibilities I followed my wife into the teaching
profession by teaching middle school science for ten years. During my
teaching career I was introduced to facilities management including
safety and wellness policies and procedures.
